State Rep. David S. Olsen Named “Friend of Agriculture”

State Representative David S. Olsen (R-Downers Grove) has received the “Friend of Agriculture” award from the DuPage County Farm Bureau. Olsen received the award on September 12 at the farm bureau’s annual meeting at St. Andrew’s Golf Club in West Chicago.

“It was an incredible honor to receive this award from leaders in the DuPage County agricultural community,” said Olsen. “Efforts that support agriculture are very important in Illinois, and as a legislator I am committed to helping those in the agriculture industry with their goal of improving food production practices and ensuring a plentiful and safe food supply.”

Legislators receiving this award recognize the far-reaching benefits of Illinois' agricultural products and the important role farmers play in providing quality food, fiber and fuel for the state, nation, and world. Created in 1913, the DuPage County Farm Bureau is one of the oldest bureaus of its kind in the United States. The DuPage County Farm Bureau currently includes approximately 15,000 members.

“Our local Farm Bureau is a leading voice of agriculture and I appreciate their informational and educational efforts throughout the County. “I am especially appreciative of their programs that educate more than 10,000 students in DuPage County about the importance of the agriculture industry.”
